Common questions
What does Spy cost?
Nothing. Spy is free, with no tiers, no subscription and no paid upgrades — so there is nothing to cancel and no billing to manage. If that ever changes we will say so clearly and ask you first; see section 8 of the Terms. Your carrier's usual message and data rates still apply, because Spy runs over text.
How do I stop the messages?
Reply STOP to any message from Spy. You will get one confirmation and nothing after it. Stopping the messages is not the same as deleting your data — for that, see the deletion page.
How do I report or block someone?
Text Spy and say so, or email support@joinspy.ai. Ask Spy not to introduce you to someone again and it will stop, permanently. The other person is never told that you reported or blocked them. You can report behaviour that happened after you met in person, too.
How does matching work?
Spy asks you questions over text and builds a picture of you from your answers, your personality result, your values and what you have said you are looking for. When it finds someone, it asks both of you before either profile is shared — nobody sees you because an algorithm decided they should.
Matching combines automated processing with human review, and automated output can be wrong. The Privacy Policy lists the data involved.
Is there an app?
No, and that is deliberate. Spy works in the messaging app you already use. There is nothing to install, no notifications to fight with, and no feed.
Who else sees my profile?
Only people Spy has matched you with, after you have said yes. Your phone number is never shared — if someone gets it, it is because you gave it to them.
How do I delete my account?
Email privacy@joinspy.ai, or use the deletion request page.
